Community Commitments

Hyacinth C. Ahuruonye is currently chapter president of the San Francisco-Bay Area based Gamma Chi Lambda Chapter (link to of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; and he concurrently serves as chairman of the National Internal Audit Committee of the organization.

In May 2005, Mr. Ahuruonye served as grand marshal at San Francisco's Juneteenth Parade, sharing the spotlight with Renel Brooks Moon, Co-Grand Marshall and Radio/TV/Sports Personality.

Mr. Ahuruonye is also board treasurer of the Bay Area Community Development Corporation; board member and treasurer of the San Francisco Private Industry Council - a mayoral appointment by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.

As part of his commitment to youth and parenting, he is board chairman of the Youth Guidance Center Improvement Committee in San Francisco; and also serves as board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Parental Stress, Inc., an Oakland, CA community based organization.
